A view from Carloway
This is the view from the kitchen window of the house we rented on Lewis. On the last day, the children asked if they could down to the loch and were told -- yes, if they went as far as the bridge. They decided to go for a hike around the loch. Luckily my husband and I once we had discoverd this fact, were able to keep tabs on their progress through binoculars. The middle decided to do this in her sandals and a skirt. A mistake that I don't think she will be repeating.
