Series romance tends to have little or no bridging conflict because you do have to get to the main event -- ie the spine of the story very quickly, preferably within the first scene.Michelle Styleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03400990189443593076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11101950.post-66707349957854140632012-05-16T22:21:22.084+01:002012-05-16T22:21:22.084+01:00I'm glad Melanie asked that question - I was w...I'm glad Melanie asked that question - I was wondering the same thing. Thanks for explaining it so clearly and good luck with getting your book to the level you're aiming for.Tora Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17403662795482388158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11101950.post-1401170008211145882012-05-16T17:05:33.536+01:002012-05-16T17:05:33.536+01:00OK, I think I get it :). You've worked so hard on this story obviously, it's great that readers are going to see it soon!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13513775558406795985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11101950.post-37107253998574456372012-05-16T15:16:56.882+01:002012-05-16T15:16:56.882+01:00It has to do with focus. The growth of the emotional relationship drives the story and its arc is hugely important. In order to get everything I want to happen in this story, I don't have the word count. It is a bigger story...if that makes any sense.Michelle Styleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03400990189443593076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11101950.post-76858128655527775972012-05-16T14:03:08.113+01:002012-05-16T14:03:08.113+01:00Could you explain a little bit more about why your...Could you explain a little bit more about why your book couldn't be an HH? Is it because it would have been too long? (I'm trying to learn the ins and outs of HH). I guess what I'm asking is what the main difference between an HH and a single title is, other than length and obviously, numbers of subplots.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13513775558406795985noreply@blogger.com
